Amanda Young

"First and foremost you want the best person on the board to be someone who supports those that not only attend the school, but also supports those that help the school run, Amanda is that person.
She has the necessary views from not only being a product of the Utah public school system, but also a volunteer and parent. Amanda has spent years volunteering in classrooms, the local community, and the PTA. I served with her for many years on the PTA board and she was absolutely the person I could rely on most. I appreciated her knowledge and skills when it came to helping provide for our school to have better and her ideas and thoughts on what we should do next. Amanda is the person that goes above and beyond when something needs to be done and every school board needs more people like her."

I’ve worked closely with Amanda during our time together on Springside’s Community Council, PTA, and through leadership roles within our faith community. I can personally attest to her character, integrity, communication skills, effectiveness within a team, and commitment to education. She’s deeply invested in creating and maintaining a school district that meets the educational needs and expectations of our community – and is both willing and capable of addressing the complexities inherent in its creation and governance. She has a keen intellect and is able to authentically and articulately collaborate and advocate for those she represents. She has earned my respect and trust – and if given the opportunity, I'm confident she’ll do the same within our community at large.

Amanda is extremely passionate about education and the rights of both students and educators. She has been involved with education since she was in school herself. From volunteering to PTA to community counsel, she’s done it all. Amanda knows what needs to be done because she’s in the trenches, helping whenever and wherever she can. There is no one with more heart, passion and dedication than Amanda Clawson. As a parent, she is exactly who I’d want advocating for my child. As an educator, she’s exactly who I’d want on my side. You couldn’t ask for anyone better.

Jessica McGill

One thing about knowing someone since high school is you get a chance to see how they handle the challenges life throws at them. Amanda is an amazing advocate. She serves so many hours in her community and her children's schools, and she has had to fight to get her kids what they need. I know she will fight to make sure all kids are getting what they need in any situation that is thrown at her. She is level headed and a go-getter. And because she lives and serves in the community she wants to represent, she knows the unique challenges that area is facing.

Teresa Millet

Please consider Amanda Clawson for seat 5! I have had the opportunity to watch Amanda volunteer on community council and in BOTH the schools where her kids attend for years! Amanda is very knowledgeable on what's going on not only in Saratoga Springs, but on a state level. She strives to stay informed on the needs of the community along with the needs of the students. She has been a great asset to our community and would be my vote for School Board Seat 5! Thank you for all you r dedication and volunteer hours on behalf of ALL our children, Amanda!

"Amanda is a kind, thoughtful, and deeply committed member of our community who truly understands the needs of our schools—because she’s been there, every step of the way.

Although she is not a teacher by profession, Amanda has spent countless hours volunteering in our schools. She was recognized at our school this year as volunteer of the year! She has seen firsthand what our students, teachers, and support staff experience day to day, and she brings that understanding with her in everything she does. Her experiences have given her a unique and valuable perspective—she truly gets it!

One of her greatest strengths is her ability to listen. Amanda takes the time to hear different viewpoints, and she communicates with clarity, respect, and purpose. She’s not interested in pushing an agenda—she’s interested in what’s best for the students and teachers.

As a parent of children who use IEPs and other supports, she also brings a deep personal understanding of the special education system. She knows how critical it is that all children—regardless of their needs—feel supported and included in their learning environment.

Amanda is exactly the kind of person we want helping to guide our schools: compassionate, clear-headed, and committed to making a positive difference. I wholeheartedly support her candidacy and know she will serve with integrity and heart."

Amanda is exactly the kind of person every parent and teacher wants to have on a school board! Amanda is passionate about our children's education and ensuring that every child has an equal opportunity to the education and services they deserve. She is a problem solver with so many wonderful ideas of how to help shape a new district. Amanda has always been very involved in her own children's schools. Whether that be in the classroom, in the PTA, helping run the school choir, running the community council or countless other examples. Nobody works harder than Amanda, she gives everything she does 110%. She is very knowledgeable, driven, compassionate, understanding, approachable and passionate. I am excited at the prospect of someone so wonderful having an influence on our school system. She is a force for good!
